A Medical Centre for Hoppers Crossing Residents
Juniper Avenue Medical Centre is in Point Cook, about 7 km east of Hoppers Crossing by road. We are not a Hoppers Crossing medical centre and have no rooms there, but plenty of people choose a GP one suburb over, particularly for checks and ongoing care they plan ahead.

How Hoppers Crossing connects to Point Cook
Most of Hoppers Crossing sits north-west of the clinic. The quickest route for many residents is onto the Princes Freeway heading towards Melbourne, off at the Forsyth Road exit, then south along Boardwalk Boulevard to Dunnings Road. Expect roughly 7 km. The car park is at the rear of 2 Juniper Ave, entered from Dunnings Road.
An established suburb with working families
Wyndham City describes Hoppers Crossing as one of the oldest, most established suburbs in the municipality, named after the Hopper family who held land there early on. At the 2021 Census it had about 37,200 residents and a median age of 37 (ABS QuickStats). Nearly half of all families were couples with children.
India was the most common country of birth after Australia, and Arabic, Punjabi, Mandarin and Hindi were the leading languages spoken at home after English. Machinery operators and drivers made up about 12% of employed residents, roughly double the state share.
Heart and diabetes checks in midlife
About 6.3% of Hoppers Crossing residents reported diabetes in 2021, above the Victorian 4.7%. A midlife check can pick up risk early. The Heart Foundation says you are eligible for a Heart Health Check if you do not already have heart disease and are 45 or over, 35 or over with diabetes, or 30 or over for First Nations people.
Before you come in, the government’s AUSDRISK tool estimates your chance of type 2 diabetes over the next five years. Bring the result to a heart health check or a health assessment, and if diabetes is already part of your life, see our diabetes care page.
Medicals for work and licences
If your job involves heavy vehicles, forklifts or other machinery, you may be asked for a medical. The Fees page lists the taxi, driver’s licence and pre-employment medicals the clinic provides. Bring any form your employer or licensing body has given you, your glasses if you wear them, and a list of current medicines.
Choosing a medical centre for Hoppers Crossing families
For families, a single practice that keeps everyone’s records together is convenient. We see children, parents and grandparents, and childhood immunisations are bulk billed. Our paediatric care and child immunisation pages explain what happens at those visits.
Weekday appointments are available until 8:00pm, which helps after a shift or school pick-up, and the clinic also opens on weekends.
Fees at a glance
Bulk billing covers DVA card holders, pensioners over 65, childhood and adult immunisations and GP care plans. Other visits are privately billed and may leave a gap after the Medicare rebate. The fees page shows the current charges.
