Areas We Serve
Juniper Avenue Medical Centre has one clinic, at 2 Juniper Ave in Point Cook. Patients come to us from Point Cook and from suburbs across Melbourne’s west. Each page below explains how far that area is from the clinic by road, the usual route, and what to plan before you travel.
One clinic in Point Cook
There are no Juniper rooms or doctors in the other suburbs listed here. Every appointment, test and procedure takes place at 2 Juniper Ave, Point Cook VIC 3030. The car park is at the rear of the building, with the entrance from Dunnings Road, so you do not need to look for street parking.
Suburbs we cover
Each suburb page covers the distance by road, the usual route to the clinic, local facts from the 2021 Census and the questions people from that area ask most. If your suburb is not listed, you are still welcome to book an appointment.
Before you travel
Book online through HealthEngine at any time, or call reception on (03) 9395 5566. The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Dorevitch Pathology collects blood and urine samples on site on weekdays from 8:00am to 3:00pm and on Saturdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm, so a test can often be done straight after your appointment. Results are usually sent to you by text message, and an urgent result is followed up by phone. For a follow-up that does not need an examination, ask reception about a phone consultation and its fee.
Fees for patients from any suburb
Juniper Avenue is a mixed billing clinic. Consultations are bulk billed for DVA card holders, pensioners over 65, childhood and adult immunisations and GP care plans. Other visits may have an out-of-pocket fee, and the fees page lists the current amounts. A $30 fee applies for late cancellations and missed appointments, so let reception know early if your plans change.
Becoming a regular patient
Many patients from outside Point Cook stay with one practice so their GP knows their history. After two in-person visits within 24 months you may be eligible to register with Juniper through MyMedicare, which links you to the practice as your usual clinic. Registration is voluntary and free. Bring your Medicare card, a list of current medicines and any letters or results from previous doctors to your first appointment.
When not to make the drive
In an emergency, call 000 rather than driving to the clinic. When the clinic is closed, 13 SICK (13 7425) provides after-hours help. If you need a doctor the same day and live further out, a GP closer to home may be quicker to reach. Healthdirect runs a free 24-hour health advice line on 1800 022 222.
